Youchuan Wang is a postdoctoral associate at Yale University School of Medicine. His current work focuses on two main directions: developing foundation and world models for perturbation dynamics in neurodegenerative brain diseases and conducting interpretability analysis of these models to better understand their learned biological mechanisms.

Before joining Yale, he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Syracuse University under the supervision of Dr. Chilukuri K. Mohan, where he studied sparse network learning with machine learning methods for gene regulatory network inference. He also received his M.S. in Computer Science from Syracuse University and his B.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he studied seismology and geophysics.

His research interests include interpretable machine learning, world models, and evolutionary algorithms. Outside of research, he enjoys competitive gaming, including World of Warcraft raiding and Dota 2.
